Simply put, it involves neurotoxin injections into the trapezius muscle. This is a very strong muscle that extends from the neck to the shoulders and down the back, almost in a diamond shape. How it works?

A neurotoxin is injected not the trap muscles, , these interrupt the nerve impulses to the muscle, causing it to relax.  This can ease overactive neck and shoulder muscles, and relieve tension and pain in the neck area. It slims and de-bulks the muscles, reducing a hunched-over appearance and creating a more elongated neckline. It’s very similar to the benefits of Masseter Botox which both alleviates jaw pain and slims the jawline.

How Many units will you need?

Traps are a very large muscle, about 50 - 70 units is needed on each side depending on the size and tightness of the muscles in the area.

Duration of Results

• To maintain the slimmed appearance, follow-up injections are usually required. Over time, some patients may require fewer injections as the muscles adapt to the treatment.
